Duncanville High School's chapter of the Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) sent 18 students to the state competition in Arlington last weekend.
Three students won blue ribbons, six students were gold award winners and one student, Dion Jamerson, qualified for the national competition with his creative lecture entry.
The conference gave students the opportunity to meet others from around the state with the same interests, gain an understanding of what it takes to be a successful college student, and learn the skills necessary for becoming a successful educator.
