Staff honoree is Naomi Franco (Secretary, nominated by Principal Kim Edmondson)

    • Exemplifies the district core values. She supports "writing success stories one student at a time" through her efforts to serve teachers and administrators.
    • Her willingness to do "whatever it takes" makes her an exemplary employee.
    • Believes that every parent should have a positive interaction when they come into the office and strives to foster relationships with all stakeholders.
    • Ms. Edmondson said: I have witnessed her effort to assist even the most difficult parent because it is her desire to show them that we are partners and truly want to help them with anything they need.
    • She will patiently explain and answer questions so that the parent/community feels supported.
    • She does it with a smile on her face and concern in her voice.
    • Also, she is a proud Duncanville graduate and wants all stakeholders to find value in an education at Duncanville ISD.

Student honoree is Destiny Keaton at Brandenburg Intermediate School (nominated by Principal Tamra Thompson).

    • Each morning as she volunteers her time in the office assisting with office duties.
    • She’s also a part of the media team leading the campus with the morning announcements.
    • Greets everyone with a smile and "hello", or "how are you today?"
    • Ms. Thompson said - As the new principal of Brandenburg Intermediate, she was one of the first students that I had the pleasure of meeting. Upon entering my office, I spoke to her and asked how I could help her.
    • She informed me that she just came by to say hello and gave me a hug. It warmed my heart to see such a respectful young lady.
    • Destiny has been in the Duncanville ISD school system since kindergarten and is on the path for greatness. I know she will be one of our success stories just as she is today.
