Duncanville ISD is committed to data standardization
and interoperability. As a member district
of IMS Global DISD has adopted the standards of One Roster, LTI, Common Cartridge
as well as Thin Cartridge for data integration.
The OneRoster™ standard is a subset of the Learning
Information Services standard that focuses on the school’s needs to exchange
roster information and grades. For Duncanville ISD OneRoster ability is the key
to streamlining student roster information between software systems. This
ability allows for quicker student and staff access to needed instructional
Cartridge and Thin Cartridge is a standardized
way to package and exchange digital learning materials and assessments. This
standard allows DISD a way to exchange links and provide authorization to third
party web-based learning tools via Learning Tools Interoperability. It also empowers
Duncanville ISD to import and export course materials to and from Learning
Management System, Portal, Learning Object Repository or other Learning Platform.
Learning Tools Interoperability® (LTI®) is
a specification developed by IMS Global
Learning Consortium.. The principal concept of LTI is to establish a
standard way of integrating rich learning applications (often remotely hosted
and provided through third-party services) with platforms like learning
management systems, portals, learning object repositories, or other educational
environments. LTI will empower Duncanville ISD to cross integrate educational
content between vendor products.
