Alec Hawkins has been serving as head athletic trainer at Duncanville High School since 2009. Before that, Alec was the head athletic trainer at Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana for six years. His thirteen-year sports medicine career began here at Duncanville as the assistant athletic trainer in 2000, where he worked under the tutelage of longtime head athletic trainer, Dave Burton.

Alec is a graduate of Southern University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Health & Physical Education. He holds a Masters’ Degree in Health Education from Prairie View A&M University where he served as the graduate assistant athletic trainer under the athletic training legend John Mayes. He is a Licensed Athletic Trainer and also holds his national certification with the NATABOC.

Alec shares his life with his wife, the former Ms. Candace Sutton and they have two children, Myles and Alyce. The Hawkins family is very excited to be back in Duncanville and to be a part of the winning tradition.

Paola Cabrera is entering her first year as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Duncanville High School. Paola graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology and did a 2 year apprenticeship in athletic training with football and volleyball teams.

Paola recently graduated with her Master of Science degree in Athletic Training from the University of Texas at Arlington. Prior to obtaining her Master's Degree, she worked at a physical therapy clinic where she focused on rehabilitation and management. In her spare time, she enjoys working out, playing pickup soccer and hanging out with her family.

Ricky Webster LAT, ATC

Ricky Webster is entering his first year as an assistant athletic trainer at Duncanville High School. He is a graduate from Texas Tech University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology followed by attending the University of Texas at Arlington where he completed his Master of Science in Athletic Training. While at Texas Tech he participated with the semiprofessional football team, West Texas Outlaws, as an athlete and head strength and conditioning coach.

Prior to pursuing his education, Ricky enlisted into the United States Army and served five years as an Airborne Infantryman following high school. During his time in the military he was stationed in multiple bases throughout the United States, Europe, and Afghanistan. While in the service he found his passion for strength and conditioning and corrective exercise performance when he served as a physical fitness and combat readiness instructor.

Janae Pullins

Janae is an alumni of Duncanville High School. While in high school she joined the athletic training program and continued her athletic training career through her college years. Janae attended Texas A&M University Commerce where she double majored and obtained two bachelors’ degrees of science in health and athletic training. She currently has certifications as a Licensed Athletic Trainer in the state of Texas since 2008, First Aid CPR/AED Instructor for the American Red Cross since 2012, and a TSATA Sports Medicine Certified Instructor since 2011.

Janae is married to Derrick, also an alumni from Duncanville, and they have twin sons Dillion and Jackson.
