    Alec Hawkins M.Ed, ATC, LAT

     Alec Hawkins has been serving as head athletic trainer at Duncanville High School since 2009. Before that, Alec was the head athletic trainer at Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana for six years. His thirteen-year sports medicine career began here at Duncanville as the assistant athletic trainer in 2000, where he worked under the tutelage of longtime head athletic trainer, Dave Burton.

     Alec is a graduate of Southern University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Health & Physical Education. He holds a Masters’ Degree in Health Education from Prairie View A&M University where he served as the graduate assistant athletic trainer under the athletic training legend John Mayes. He is a Licensed Athletic Trainer and also holds his national certification with the NATABOC.
     
    Alec shares his life with his wife, the former Ms. Candace Sutton and they have two children, Myles and Alyce. The Hawkins family is very excited to be back in Duncanville and to be a part of the winning tradition. 
     

    Amii Johnson
    Assistant Athletic Trainer

    Amii Johnson is entering her second year as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Duncanville High School.  She has served as a head athletic trainer for 8 years on the high school, collegiate, and semi-professional levels.  Most recently, Ms. Johnson served as Head Athletic Trainer at Huston-Tillotson University (2011-2014) in Austin, TX.  While at HT, she developed the University’s first Student-Athlete Alcohol and Drug Education & Testing Program and the first Student Athletic Trainer Program.

    Ms. Johnson is a native of Vicksburg, MS.  She earned scholarships to attend the illustrious, Alcorn State University from the Sounds of Dyn-o-Mite Marching Band and the Lady Braves Softball Team. In 2003, Ms. Johnson received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.  In 2006, she earned a Master of Science Degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Athletic Training from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.  Ms. Johnson is a Texas Licensed Athletic Trainer.

    In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, playing competitive and recreational softball, photography, volunteer teaching at the American Red Cross, working on creative projects, and couponing.

     
     

    Trichelle Walters MS, ATC, LAT, CES
    Assistant Athletic Trainer 

    Trichelle Walters is entering her first year as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Duncanville High School. Most recently, Ms. Walters served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Tarleton State University (2013-2015) in Stephenville, TX and outreach athletic trainer for Kinetix Fitness and Sports Medicine.   

    Ms. Walters was born in the U.S. Virgin Islands and raise in Houston, TX. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training at Texas A&M University- Commerce in 2013. She was offered a graduate assistant athletic trainer and instructor position at Tarleton State University where she received a Master of Science degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sports Medicine in 2015. Ms. Walters is a Texas Licensed and National Certified Athletic Trainer and a Corrective Exercise Specialist. 

    In her spare time, she enjoys going to the movies, traveling, watching competitive sports, dancing, and cooking.

     
     

    Maya Seals, MS, ATC, LAT, NSCA-CPT

    Maya Seals is entering her first year as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Duncanville High School, after having previously served as a student athletic training intern with Duncanville High School athletics. She recently graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Master of Science degree in Athletic Training and is a Certified and State Licensed Athletic Trainer.
     

    Ms. Seals graduated from Texas A&M University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology with a specialization in Exercise Applied Physiology and a minor in Sports Management. Upon graduation, she received a personal training certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and pursued a career in fitness and bodybuilding for 2 years before returning back to school.

    With a love for sports stemming from childhood and a heartfelt desire to preserve the health and wellbeing of student athletes, Ms. Seals is very excited to be a part of the Duncanville family, In her spare time, she enjoys working out, cooking, spending time with family, reading and playing Candy Crush.
