Erica McKenzie begins the 2015-2016 school year with seven years of experience as a classroom teacher. She holds a Masters of Education in School Counseling from Lamar University and a Bachelor’s of Science in Political Science from Texas A&M University-Commerce where she also delightfully became a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
As a Native of the City of Duncanville and a proud product of Duncanville ISD, having attended Acton, Hardin, Daniel, Byrd the Ninth Grade Center and DHS in the 90's, Erica happily joined the dynamic Duncanville High School Social Studies Department in 2013 and is currently assigned to teach African American Studies, Dual Credit Economics and Economics.
As a dedicated wife and mother of two daughters, evenings and weekends are filled with tons of laughter and fun family duties. Erica enjoys trying out new eateries in and around DFW while spending time with her family and friends. She is also a member of Oak Bible Fellowship Church, whose partnership with Duncanville ISD has positively impacted the city of Duncanville and youth of Southern Sector of Dallas for more than two decades.
With clear vested interest in Duncanville ISD, Erica takes the business of educating Duncanville's youth seriously and purposefully engages students in meaningful task that promote growth and advancement.
