    Round Up

Operation "Boots on the Ground" was in full effect.  The Merrifield staff immersed themselves into the community by conducting a neighborhood visit on Monday, August 11, 2016.  The staff was able to visit all of the communities and apartments that feed into Merrifield ES.  Many of our families expressed their appreciation for actually coming out to their homes.  Connections were made with several families.  In addition, the Merrifield staff passed out flyers reminding the families to attend Meet The Teacher night on August 18th.

School History

  • Merrifield

Merrifield Elementary opened in 1962, with additions in 1963, 1968 and 1980 and renovations in 2003 and 2004.  The school was named for the Merrifield family, a pioneer family of southwest Dallas County.  The school serves grades PK-4.

    Merrifield Family

Merrifield Elementary is named for the Merrifields, a pioneer family from the late 1800s who owned and farmed the land on which the school was built. Several members of the Merrifield family served on the school board in early years, and the family also donated the land for the original brick building that is now Central Elementary.
